I haven't updated in a few years. Will there be any issues when updating?
Most likely. The new Garmin Terms are that a GPS that hasn't received a map update in two years will lose its lifetime map update ability.
I strongly suggest you try to update to the current map ASAP. Report back with your results (and your current map version on the device now and when you tried to update to the newest version).
Hope it is out by July - there is a recently opened part of I-69 in Indiana that I would like to see on the map update.
Yeah, that could fall into a plan to reduce updates each year. Especially when we consider the time it takes for some changes to make its way to an updated map, twice a year seems more productive ...... IF it would help the process. My bet is not ... as with most productivity improvements, they all sound good but not always "productive". Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances, that some intern didn't know enough to consider, usually sabotages the "good" intentions.
But then again, who am I to fret, I'm only a customer.

What frosts me....
...that they sell you these lifetime updates and then cut them back to 2 or maybe even one a year. That's false advertising.
