Regarding large JCV files for Europe, they do exist. Garmin doesn't make them available for download like for the US, but they do exist. There must be a smaller quantity of views in the file, as the file itself doesn't break 700MB in size.

have 2014.20 installed. missed a number of exits in Arlington Forth worth area last weeek
Just installed 2014.20 today
This morning I installed the 2014.20 map update on my 2555LMT. Went smoothly using Map Updater.
Question, do I need a different JVC file or did I get the full size one (for split view)?
You have the right JCV.
On newer nuvi's like your 2555, you will get the correct full JCV file with the map update.

Are you looking to update a map or get the large JCV file?
For a map update, use Garmin Express or GarminMapUpdater. Keep in mind that this thread was made for the City Navigator map update a couple of versions ago, not the current 2014.40 map.
If the large JCV is the link you want, first note that your nuvi 2555 gets the proper large split screen JCV file during the map update so you don't want to manually install the large JCV unless you really want a full screen JV display that disappears in a few seconds.
