SD card on Nuvi 755T for POIs

I am trying to put my POIs on my up-to-date Nuvi 755T through an SD card.

I formatted the 2 GB card with Disk Utility as Fat32 with MBR and placed it in the card slot on my iMac.

When I tried to install the POIs from POILoader onto the card it stayed at "Initializing" for over 15 minutes before I cancelled it.

If anyone is able to point out what is wrong I would apprecite it.

Have a nice day. H.

POI's

I could be wrong but, I think you have to have the GPS connected to the computer to load the POI files using the POILoader.

Current versions of POIloader let you install to your GPS or to a folder on your computer or SD card

finally found

Problem fixed, maybe not solved.

I broke down the folder into anothe folder and loaded each file separately adding one each time. It took a while but the problem POI file was the Triple D Plus file.

By deleting it, the POI files loaded correctly. I was not able to find why that particular file was able to mess things up. The straight Triple D file gave no problems.

A learning experience.

Thank you for the leads.

Have a nice day all. H.

Triple D

I had the EXACT same problem with the Triple D Plus file. The explanation boils down to one of the fields being over 255 characters in length.

Once I truncated the field to 255 characters I could get the Mac POI Loader to process the file successfully.

This was some time ago though and I've updated the POI Loader (the issue was with 2.2.1 and the version I have now is 2.2.2) since then and not experienced any issues since. Of course, I also run a W7 VM that I can just process the file through as well as the windows version never had the issue...

My comments when I was trying to debug the issue are at the bottom of the first page of the thread here - http://www.poi-factory.com/node/35810
