Spanish voice with street names

I've communicated to Garmin with 10+ emails of pointless FAQ responses on how to update my device. Aside from being insulting as they clearly don't read my inquiries, it's just gotten pointless.

Anyway, Garmin insists that there is a Spanish voice that announces street names. however, it is not on my device. I have all updates and all additional updates installed.

I'm curious if someone can tell me where to find a Spanish voice that reads street names for my Nuvi 3790LMT?

If there is one from Garmin, I surely cannot find it. I would pay a couple bucks to get such a voice for sure.

Thanks!

Español

You need to look in settings and language to select Español as your choice.

I had that choice in my old 350, in my 855 and my 3790 also.

Double check to see if you the spanish srd file under asr in the .system directory. In the voice directory you need the vpm file of course and the glx files in the Text directory. there could be 3 of those. I use German and it works fine.

Spanish Voice

Not owning a 3790 I can't say what Spanish voices are avaikable to you, but surely there is a Spanish Voice that speaks stree names.

On my 2460LMT, if I go into the voice folder I have 3 Spanish voices that will announce street names. Perhaps your looking for "Spanish", they are listed as "Espanol".
Here are my 3 on the 2460, yours may differ on the 3790,just look under Espanol.
1- Espanol_Americas_Javier.VPN
2- Espanol_Americas_Paulina.VPN
3- Espanol_European_Isabell.VPN

By using WebUpdater you can check all available voice files, make sure you have the Espanol checked and download the latest versions.

Fascinating. They didn't tell me it had to be in Spanish on both settings to get the street names.

You need to choose a voice like Paulina TTS Javier TTS or Isabel TTS already in your unit.
You owe me a couple bucks!

Or like we say in Miami
Necesitas escoger la vos de Paulina TTS Javier TTS o Isabel TTS que están dentro de tu unidad.
Tu me debes 2 cañas!

Spanish Voice on Garmin Nuvi 2595

I have these three voices listed in the Voice Directory on my Garmin Nuvi 2595:
1- Espanol_Americas_Javier.VPN
2- Espanol_Americas_Paulina.VPN
3- Espanol_European_Isabell.VPN

But, they do not show up in my Garmin when I go to select voices in the language settings.
Any help?

Hola barry_vetero

1- Using Garmin Express, first make sure that the three voices your mentioning have been downloaded within the GPS.

2- I also have a foreign language on my unit and to see & choose that voice I must first change the text language from English to the same foreign language in question and then I'm able to see and choose it.

I certainly hope this helps and solves your problem smile
