Our pastor has this policy

Our pastor has this policy that no one should lose an hour of sleep due to the government decide to change the time at 2am in the morning when most people are trying to sleep in on Sunday before going to work on Monday. So when this time rolls around each year, he tells us not to change your clock until after you have attending morning service which actually makes a lot of sense, this way you do not lose your hour sleep, unless you have to be somewhere that requires you to change your clock the night before.

Convenient logic.

Of course you still lose it ... all this does is change it from early Sunday morning to Sunday afternoon. You still lose the hour so all you have done is change the lost hour of sleep from Sunday morning to Monday morning.

Using this same line of reasoning, you might enjoy my post from another thread on POI Factory regarding DST:

alandb wrote:

twisted I kind of like that idea of Daily DST instead of annual DST that I read about somewhere online (maybe it was in this forum but I can't find it now). You "spring forward" every day at 2 PM. That way you get to go home from work 1 hour sooner and enjoy an extra hour of daylight. You then "fall back" at 2 AM to get the hour back and enjoy that extra hour of sleep.

All in favor ... cool laugh out loud

I just slept over, no problem there grin

they may put an end to this

I am sure that most of you heard about a Senator for Ohio he is trying to put an end on this daylight saving time change, and I agree it is more trouble that is worth.they should live it alone..

Daylight Savings

One more hour of daylight, love it!!!

I don't think it's needed these days

With our 24 hour society today, I don't think the claimed savings make up for the inconvenience.

Still getting used to it.

DST

I prefer DST. They could leave it there all year long & I would be a happy camper.

To make everyone happy

why not make it permanent but instead of a 60 minutes change, make the change only 30 minutes.

Thinking of it this way makes you see how ridiculous the DST thing is. It's more political than anything else.

On this forum, reply posts can be edited by their author (until someone replies to it) but a post can not be deleted. In case a member wants to remove a message posted while editing is still allowed, at least one character needs to be left in the Subject and Comment.

In this case, it looks like the writer ended up with a double-post, hence the near removal of the 2nd one.
