Tampa Bay RLC Thread

Combining into a single thread sounds like it would easier for people to follow.

Found these other threads:

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/34275
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/34553
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/34697
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/34731
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/32833

These all look okay to include in a Tampa Area thread?

Tampa Bay RLC Thread

I would leave Brooksville (http://www.poi-factory.com/node/34697) out of a consolidated thread. Its quite a distance north of Tampa and isn't usually regarded as part of "Tampa Bay". IMHO the towns that should be included are in Hillsborough or Pinellas County, such as St. Petersburg, Gulfport, Clearwater, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, Largo, Pinellas Park, the Beaches, and on the Hillsborough side Brandon (they had RLC's back in 2008), Ruskin, Apollo Beach, and Temple Terrace. There are probably others that I've missed.

I'd include threads such as Oldsmar (this one), and St. Petersburg / Clearwater (www.poi-factory.com/node/32890) and any that include the cites mentioned above.

I Would Agree

Hillsborough, Pinellas & Pasco counties are generally considered to be the "Tamps Bay" area. Brooksville, in Hernando County, is quite a ways north and probably should not be included.

Just like Sarasota & Manatee counties to the south are their own separate area and have RLCs.

Tampa Area Will Need Need To Be Its Own File Fore Sure

Wow! Looks like the Tampa area, of which I reside, will need to have its own "red light camera" file soon enough. Jeeze, how many more can they put it?

How Many?

Oldsmar Florida installation in progress

I was out today and saw that the red light camera at the junction of State Routes 580 and 584 (Tampa Road) eastbound is now installed and a warning sign posted. I don't know if it is operational yet.

The camera at Tampa Road and Forrest Lakes Road southbound is under construction, with the support posts and some electronics installed, but is not yet completed. The previous news article referred to this camera location as being northbound, but it is clearly being installed north of the intersection looking southbound.

Cameras Active Now?

Are these cameras active now?

Probably Not Active Yet

I don't think the installed camera on Tampa Road at the junction of 580 and 584 is active just yet. In the past in this area, there would be a news release about the cameras, and a 30 day warning period before the fines start.

By the way, I made a mistake in my previous post. The camera is looking westbound on Tampa road, not eastbound. Sorry for any confusion.

More Work This Morning

This morning the contractor from American Lighting and Signalization was busy at work installing a red light camera at the intersection of Forest Lakes Blvd. and State Route 580.

Equipment is partially installed on two sides of the intersection, so it looks like they may be targeting multiple directions. Once the installation is finished we will have a clearer picture of what our $19,000 per month is paying for...

The location mentioned are already in the file.
Thanks JM
