More Red Light Cameras in Florida

I heard on the news today the city of Brooksville which is not far from Tampa, will be installing red light cameras early next year.

I will post more information when I hear more about them.

At present, these are not in the camera files because they were removed by the city back in 2010.

Details are mentioned in this article: http://www.tampabay.com/news/localgovernment/brooksville-cit...

Quote:

The city originally installed red-light cameras at five intersections in 2008, but removed them in 2010 when it could not reach an agreement on a contract extension with the vendor — in part because of changes in state law regarding revenue sharing.

Quote:

Two weeks ago, council members voted 3-2 to contract with the South Florida company Sensys America Inc. to install 20 red-light cameras in Brooksville, starting in March. The city and company have not yet made a final decision on which intersections will get the cameras.

I've been watching the news on Brooksville and am waiting to see which intersections are chosen for the new program and confirmation that they're installed. At that point, I'll go ahead and add the new ones to the file.

So, I appreaciate that you're all keeping an eye out for this.

missing in tampa

JM I downloaded the new RLC file 10/19/11 and saw you added new cameras in Tampa but five cameras are missing, I personally drove by two of the locations missing from the file as listed by the local Fox channel http://bit.ly/ormVBU and the cameras are definitely there.

Missing as listed in the Fox report are camera 5 – 7 – 14 – 15 and 18 (5 & 15 at same intersection) let me know if you need coordinates to add those cameras.

Thanks. I've been working with the list in this report:

I'll cross check and do some research to make sure everyting is solid for the next update.
