Today's Free App of the Day from Amazon satisfies your need for challenging puzzles that test your logic and patience.
The Objective
Each puzzle contains one or more static laser beams. Using mirrors or prisms, refract the colored laser to the circle of the same color. Various objects obstruct your path. The circle nor the source of the beam can be moved. The only way to manipulate the beam is by using the provided number of prisms and mirrors.
Depending on the color of the circle and laser, you may have to combine and split different colored lasers. This app uses pigment colors rather than light colors for refraction because pigment colors are an easier concept to grasp than light colors and accommodate the majority of users.
For example, if a puzzle has one yellow laser and one blue laser with one green circle and one yellow circle, you must combine lasers to create a green beam to reach the green circle.
The Solutions
Refraction features 120 levels with multiple solutions to each puzzle for the casual and hardcore players alike. You may like to solve a puzzle using the least amount of objects possible, or solve it with an amazing display of colors using lots of prisms and mirrors.

Starting to see some of the maps apps coming out work with wifi only for the tablets.The internet showed Apple released one.Looking for Google Maps to improve theirs shortly.Right now as long as you don't get off the route using Google you are good to go.Be nice to hear form other tablet users what they are doing on wifi only tablets.Plus comments on best GPS apps they have found.

This app quickly displays a map in motion radar map of your location. I look for apps that make a difference in my life in that they save me from a large inconvenience.

For example, I was eating supper at the NorthEast Social in Minneapolis MN three weeks ago with my Son and his girlfriend. Shortly after we ordered a desert to share we heard thunder. I pulled out my phone and stared Radar Now. The display showed a larger thunder storm soon to arrive. We ate quickly, paid our bill, and started walking briskly to our car which was three blocks to his home. We make it to our car, and rained heavy as we drove away.
Without Radar Now would would not have known of the urgency, and probably would have got caught in the rain.
It's also great when traveling in the car to show the direction the storm is moving compared to the direction we are traveling.

You have to use your strategy skills for lining up the dice to get the best scores, but chance is thrown in with each toss of the dice. As your scores add up, you gain Jokers, which will act like a wild. Certain combos get cleared from the board after being scored, others don't, all of which are detailed in the help section. It can be pretty addicting as well as fun. I wanted to take off half a star for lack of background music, but had to go with a full as halves aren't allowed.

It tells you the signal strength for wifi or cellular and it tells you which direction the tower is. I also thought that the fact that it tells you the name of the cell tower you're connected to was pretty cool. It is useful if you are in a low signal area, because with this, you can tell where the towers are and therefore you can figure out what objects are blocking the signal.

Defend an exit in the middle of the map from creeps coming in from all directions. You simply can't use the same strategy for every level; you must change up your tactics for each map.

It’s hurricane season, so I decided to take a close look at one of the many apps in the Android Market that provides information and news about current tropical storms and hurricanes.
Hurricane Hub is described in the Market description as “a comprehensive guide to hurricane season”, and to a degree the app hits on this claim. Essentially a front-end to web content covering storms, Hurricane Hub provides everything from satellite images, computer models, 3 and 5-day cone predictions, headline news and preparedness information. Hurricane Hub gathers great information on the web and puts it in a single, easy-to-use utility app. It’s great for those in the affected areas who need to stay up on the latest news, as well as just for those people who love to just track storms.
