??? 1490t

the only way to get my custom poi's to work on my 4gb sd card with my nuvi 1490t, is to set alert for distance only, poi's will not work when trying to set alert for speed with poi loader.when setting alert using speed alert, it will show poi on unit, but will not show the go to button.any ideas to make poi"s work using speed alert, in stead of distance alert?? thanks.

Stright from Garmin search support.

Question: Why do I not have the option to press the go button on my device when viewing the details of a custom POI?

Answer:
If you have loaded any custom POI's that are speed or red-light cameras, you will notice that you will not receive an option to hit 'Go' to those locations.

This is designed to operate this way. The custom POI locations for such cameras will start with a number, and if it starts with a number, the software will read it as speed or red-light cameras.

Such locations would not be selected as destinations to travel, but just areas to be alerted of, which is the reasoning behind this design.

thanks

charlesd45,i knew i could depend o you to answer my questions, thanks again.actually the only poi's that would show the go to button, were the speed and redlight cameras, that is why i did not understand why my other custom poi's would not show the go to button when i loaded them.so i finally narrowed down the reason i was seeing go to, on redlight and speed was that i was using distance alerts with these poi's, and trying to use speed alert with my other poi's, so when i finally used distance alert with all poi's i now have the go to button with all poi's. but i would rather have the speed alert which will not work.so i guess i am stuck with distance alert only. wink

EPE should do it.

You could convert them to gpx and using the replace all field with Extra Poi Editor. Then put in both speed and distance.See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/28521

Or leave them .CSV and run Poi Loader in manual

If you don't want to convert the files to .gpx, run Poi Loader in manual to customize each file for distance or speed. See my FAQ for the simplest way to do it -
