GARMIN Ease of Use

When I go "Favorites" in "Where To", I have to scroll through dozens of locations to find the one I'm looking for - is there any way to establish sub-folders to make the search faster?

.

What GPS unit are you asking about?

Garmin Ease of Use

Sorry - it's a 755t.

.

I do not believe that that unit supports categories in the Favorites.

You can search by spelling the name though.

Or you could create them as Custom POIs and use categories.

On the 755t you can assign a

On the 755t you can assign a favorite to a category like you do with custom pois.Just touch the screen on any of your favorites.Touch edit, scroll down to change categories and touch it.You now see a list to select from.Put check mark in the one you want. You can also touch new at bottom and type in the name of the category you want.It is listed on page 11 of the owners manual.

I saw "bread crumbs" mentioned in a post. I checked my manual (755t)and couldn't find it mentioned. Can anyone explain what they are and how they're used?

Bread Crumbs is the same as Trip Log, found on page 47 of your 755T manual.

Garmin, on its
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=14933
sez
"...A trip log provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10,000 points, so you can see where you've been on the map..."

On another Garmin site page they say
"...
A track is a "bread crumb" trail on the map of all movements until the track is saved or cleared. A track will begin to create after the GPS device acquires satellites and the device begins to move around..."

They also give a listing of units that have the feature (but it does leave out some of the older the more recent units and I'm guessing the hand held special purpose units that are not nüvi or Street Pilot.)

"Following is a list of the Automotive GPS units that have the Track Log capabilities.

nuvi 500, nuvi 550, nuvi 750, nuvi 760, nuvi 770, nuvi 780, nuvi 850, nuvi 860, nuvi 880, nuvi 5000, nuvi 900T, StreetPilot® 2720, StreetPilot 2730, StreetPilot 2820, StreetPilot 7200, StreetPilot 7500, Quest, Quest 2, zumo units"

Logs are often used to re-trace your pathways, or to see where you have been ... as in a wife checking on her husband's wandering.
