Downloaded the newest combined Walmart file and it has < br > between every word in the street address when opened in Excel. It also displays the < br > on my Garmin when you select a location.
Can this code be remarked out so the Garmin does not show it?

If you want to fix it yourself.Load file to Extra Poi Editor http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor and save as a Garmin CSV file not the 4-Column CSV

Thanks for keeping the coordinates and stores current, but the file needs to be checked to see if whatever you use to search and replace fields is not creating more errors.

Thanks for being so helpful. By providing line number, store number and all the other useful information it made it real easy to correct the problems.

If the error where you replaced green with /diesel were limited to one or two stores, then I would have provided that information. But when the error shows up many times as every instance of "green" has been replaced, it says the process you use is broken.

I think the latest Walmart file (Wal-Mart_US&Canada.csv) has a formatting error in it. POI Loader gave me an error message when I tried to load it on my 660.

I copied back the Sept 20, file & POI Loader loaded it just fine.

The GPX file has no coordinates. It seems every time you make a change to the file, something else gets broken. You need to check your work to be certain your changes and output files are correct before posting them.

I know maintaining this file is time consuming, but it only takes a few moments to be certain the file that will be posted is correct.

Works fine in my Garmin and looks OK in Excell and POI Editor.

I did not find a .gpx file to download. Where would I get one as I prefer them to .csv files.

I tried to load the 10/20 version of the Walmart CSV file and it failed on line 1. When I looked at the file, line 1 contains column titles. I deleted line 1 of the file and it now loads OK. I am putting the info here and have sent a note to the file owner.

I have sent an email to donaldb530 about the error for the 1st line.
It is most likely due to the EPE program. I have been caught on that problem a few times.

Your coordinates are right in the parking lot, which is certainly close enough. Traveling east on Gandy, you can enter the parking lot. But, traveling west on Gandy, you can't turn left directly into the parking lot, so you would have to turn left on S Lois Ave and use the entrance on the right.

Thanks Gary, I saw Google nailed the coord in the center of the lot and is why I wasn't sure if the stores are reported by the lot or where the entrance is.

Still in (now cold) Indiana. We'll be driving back to FL starting either Fri or Sat. We'll be home for a day or so and then on Mon driving on south to Bonita Springs to deliver my in-laws loaded car for the winter.

This is where I put my 660 to work. I was checking it today and the battery died (for the 2nd time) after only a short usage. Guess it's time to replace the battery when I finally get home. Good thing I have all the info I need to order & install one from past topics here at The Factory.

When you update the Wal-Mart file could you please take the time to update the change log as well? It would be nice to know what changed so we can tell if we should take the time to update our copies. If the changes are in an area that don't concern me, then it isn't worth downloading. But if we don't know what changes have been made, then we have to guess.

The coordinates are off by about 1/2 mile for the Walmart & Sam's Club in Janesville, WI. This one's kind of important, because for some reason, a Walmart POI search on my Garmin 1490T did not return any results for Janesville, WI. Not sure if you use the driveway or building coordinates, so I'm including both.

I see you seperated out the Canada stores into a seprate file

is it possible to seperate the US stores out into a seprate file.

I just did it myself, but its a pain to do it with every update.

The June 9th version of the GPX file is hosed. The address, city, state, zip, and phone number are crammed into the address line so the GPX features won't work.

I vote for going back to the way it was and having everything in one file. I was easy to bring up the spread sheet program and just delete out anything I did not want, or to seperate the groups the way that worked best for me.

If they remain separate, then could you also provide a CSV copy of the Canada file ( I could only find the GPX copy). I do not know of a straight forward way to combine the CSV copy of the US file with the Canadian copy of the GPX file.

I vote that it stays as 1 file. Being combined would be easier to use (and being a maintainer), easier to maintain.

I also agree the combined walmart file is much better than haveing to download each state.

Better all around, and far easier for the maintainer, as well.

The current location puts it to the right when exiting highway 10, when it should be to the left when coming off the highway.

that the file does not get updated and then you download a file that is inaccurate?

Keeping the files updated is a tremendous task to the maintainers. Keeping them updatyed is what is so great about Poi-factory.

Today, Wal-Mart annouced that they will give a 10 cents per gallon discount on gas through September 30th, when purchased with the Wal-Mart Gift Card or Wal-Mart Credit Card. I have used their gift card to purchase gas for some time, because it gave a 5 cent, but 10 cents is even better.

So, the Wal-Mart POI will probably get more interest for the next 3 months. Wal-Mart said we can go to their site, http://www.walmartstores.com/gasrollback, to find participating locations.

Is there any way to sort the file by state so I can keep only the states/provinces that are relevant to my next trip? Having trouble with file capacity on my newish Garmin 1490. Never had this problem with my 5 year old Garmin. Thanks

One of the EPE sort functions is by state.

Can you use an SD card with your 1490? Storing them on an SD card should solve your problem.

I have noticed a problem with the current WalMart combined gpx file. I am in Arizona, and when I try to locate the nearest store, it finds one 1100 miles away somewhere in Canada. I had a similar issue with a previous file, but thought that maybe I had loaded only Canada rather than the combined file. When I look at the file in Extra_POI_Editor, I can see my closest store.

Has anyone else experienced this? All of my other POI files seem to work fine.

When I select a WalMart from the Phoenix area, I get "Supercentre - Pincher Creek #107," 1094 miles north. If I search for my nearest 2 WalMarts it cannot find them... one is at Lake Pleasant (searching for "lake pleasant" doesn't find anything nor does :pleasant"). The search word "lake" returns 4 locations in Canada. The other is in Glendale. Cannot find anything with the word "glendale" in it. The same thing happens with the csv file.

All other POI files seem to work. Could it be the size of the file? When I look at the file in Extra_POI_Editor it looks OK and I can locate the stores that I mentioned above.

Using the simulation mode and set location in Phoenix, my unit shows the nearest 7 WM & a Sam's within 8.7 miles. The nearest 50 locations are within 20 miles of downtown. Hope this helps.
EDIT: Re reading the above post, I see Herschel downloaded the GPX file. I have the CSV file, which I converted to GPX.
