Street Names Missing

I am new to POI and GPS.
I have a low end unit and I noticed today while driving through my town that the street names didn't appear.
I didn't have a course routed but just had it set to Map and was driving around.
The other day I drove around and they all showed so I'm not sure if I changed a setting or something or what.
Any advice?
The bar on the top the gps
The bar on the top the gps will show the current street your on or the street that will be upcoming. That only occurs if you are in map mode. In my knowledge, there is no setting for this.
If you are saying that no street names show on the top bar then I don't know what might be the problem.

Actually the street I am on does show in the header part of the Unit. HOwever, the side streets as I approach were showing a day ago but today I noticed they were not.
I don't think I changed anything on it but found it strange as when I view the map in detail all of the streets are named so that means the map is accurate.

Check the setting to see if you changed something. Which model?
check zoom and map detail ...
you zoomed out on your map which led to less detail being displayed
the other thing that may have gotten changed is the "map detail" option in your settings
