Navigon 5100 GPS

Hi. Has anyone purchased and been using the Navigon 5100 GPS unit ?
My wife ordered one for her parents from Costco.
It was $299 Plus a $50 Rebate on top of that.
It seems like a reasonably capably unit but has very mixed reviews.
So I'd like to hear from any actual owners.

From what I hear, you can't load custom POIs on it. That is the only negative thing I have heard about it.
