Creating POI files with Icons and mp3

I've been reading a lot of posts on how to do this. Am I correct in saying that you need a .bmp or a .mp3 file for EACH poi file?

Say you have a folder with 10 different restaurants, and you want the same icon to apply to all of them. You will need to rename the same .bmp file 10 times, effectively increasing memory usage tenfold?

Isn't there a way to have one .bmp file apply to all files within the same directory, without having the same .bmp file renamed over and over again?

Thanks.

Do you want different mp3

Do you want different mp3 files associated with the POI's? Otherwise you could create one restaurants.csv file with all the locations, one restaurants.mp3 and a restaurants.bmp.

Yes, you are correct

Yes, you have to rename each to match the POI file name. However, if you want too, you could put all the restaurants into one file.

Easiest way would be to have a folder named
"Restaurants" within that would be your 10 places with all the lat/long, address etc.
If you want one bmp for all ten places, you would name the bmp "Restaurants". If you wanted to attach an mp3 you would name that "Restaurants". Therefore you'd end up with:

Restaurants.csv
Restaurants.bmp
Restaurants.mp3

Those three files would go in any other folder you like. Just keep them together. (There are other ways but this is the easiest way for you to learn the process)
