Like many updates

it took about 11 to 12 minutes. And included one or two reboots. So be patient!

There are also updates for the other typical Apple products. See https://www.macrumors.com/2023/04/07/ios-16-4-1-macos-13-3-1...

This WAS a slow install...

...as John from PA posted.

Also I want to thank Apple /not/ for overlooking some previously turned-off settings on my three portable Apple devices, particularly automatic iOS updates, which I don't want, and hitting me with mildly persistent nags to set up Apple Pay and Siri again, which I no longer want either.

I had skipped update 16.4.0, waiting for the 16.4.1 version, so if some of you didn't see this kind of settings regression with 16.4.1, it may be because you had already encountered it when updating to 16.4.0.

But otherwise the update went smoothly on all three devices.

I also encountered that unrequested alteration of my settings. Grrrr . . .
