iOS 16.1.1 and iPadOS 16.1.1 for iPhone and iPad

Apple has released iOS 16.1.1 and iPadOS 16.1.1 for iPhone and iPad users. According to the update, Apple says it “includes bug fixes and security updates and is recommended for all users.”

My IPhone and iPad both show

that my 15.7.1 software is up to date.

???

My iPhone is an 8+ so I suppose that it is possible that Apple is not updating that model. However, my iPad is the latest model of iPad Air, so that possibility does not seem realistic for it.

My iPhone 8+ finally agreed to update from iOS 15.7 to iOS 16.1.1. However, my current generation iPad Air still says that 15.7 is the latest update to the operating system that is available for it. sad
