You Can Now Download iOS 16.1.2 for iPhone

Apple has released iOS 16.1.2 for iPhone users, offering “important security updates” and some enhancements. The download comes in at 336.2MB for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Apple says the updates include improved compatibility with wireless carriers, while there are Crash Detection optimizations for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.
There is no release of iPadOS 16.1.2 yet.

Strange

My iPhone 8+ says that I should update to 16.1.2 but when I click on the Download It button, nothing happens except that the download choice goes away.

Review https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201435 as to some possibilities. Also, many Apple devices will not update if battery is below about 50%; they must be plugged in to recharge if below 50%. To be safe, plug the device into a charger, then attempt the update.

It froze my iPhone 12 on the

It froze my iPhone 12 on the update installed dialogue box after restarting. This hasn’t ever happened before. Had to hard-restart (press up and down volume keys then hold power). Seems okay now
