Keeping The Windmill Alive – October 2022

Perhaps you can post on a new book you're reading, a new hobby you're taking up or about random finds as you finally get around to cleaning out the..., or your most recent adventure?

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

Please keep comments polite.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

More people I have seen in 3 years

We finally called our insurance company about our roof. The last two hail storms hurt it.
The roofers came out and put a new roof on. We stayed in the house and watch on our cameras. It was nice to see people even if we couldn't go outside to see them.
We had to go to a doctor appointment that day so when we needed to leave we just texted our main roofer and he stopped the shingles from being thrown down by our door and we walked to the car and waved to them.
Of course we wore mask.
So tired of wearing mask.
Hopefully the new booster will work ok for my husband and his doctors will let us go without a mask. It sure would be nice to eat inside McDonalds or Rosa's.
I have missed that.
Have a great day.

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

Happy Saturday

Have a great weekend.

Trip to Peterborough and Kingston, Ontario

Took a great tour of the Peterborough area, in Kawartha Region of Ontario. Proceeded to Kingston and toured the old Kingston Penitentiary. That was a real eye opener.

Total trip about 1000 km (609 Miles). The new Drive 65 worked great and loved the traffic info and bigger screen.

little things

in life.

Our small 18.5 cu ft 20 yo fridge has been full for at least 6 years. Never any space, passing up on sales because there's no room.

Bought a 9 cu ft chest freezer for the basement, got it Sunday, and now the freezer is 1/2 full, and the chest freezer maybe 1/3 full (I think we need more stuff so it can be optimal, I've heard 80% full).

Now my wife can pick up whatever and no problem putting it in the freezer (like pizza for our son from Trader Joe's).

The chest freezer devoured the 15 lbs of meat I bought Friday night like it's nothing. I can put the 6 ice packs into the freezer and they will always be ready to go with the cooler--I couldn't fit them before! Would have to remove something to make room.

Imagine how much "comfort" $344 bought us. Seemingly worth it. Has a new refrigerant I've never heard of, R600a.

Now to install the microwave over the stove. What's left is to drill the top holes which imho is a bit tricky with a paper template. Also, there are already holes etc. from the Sharp that I took down (installed that in 2004 and it broke around 2010 and never replaced it, 12 years lol).

just another day!
