Garmin BC 40 mounting

Does anyone know if you can mount a Garmin BC 40 camera with magnets without creating any adverse affects or product damage?

I would discourage you

I'd speculate that a constant magnetic field would have no effect. If you already have the magnet(s) connect the camera to the GPS without mounting it and see.

Cars and trucks endure a lot of bouncing and pothole hits etc. Without knowing why you are looking to magnet(s) for an answer I would discourage you.

Police body cams use magnet mounts

FYI, many of the body cams that law enforcement wear are actually attached with a magnet mount.

Although not specific to the BC-40, I use these neodymium magnets to attach video cameras to my tractors & implements. They do not interfere with the video and they are powerful enough to hold under extreme conditions.

Alternate mounting solutions for the BC-40 may actually be necessary in some states that are cracking down on attachments that partially obscure the license plate.

If you do use magnets, I recommend putting a piece of electrical tape over the magnet face to avoid marring the vehicle finish.
