OK It's June 2nd.... Which comes first---- Page 3 or the Map Update?????

The 2018 mid-year update, 2019.20, was 147 days after the prior update. 147 days from the January 2019 update, 2020.10, will be June 26th. That's a Wednesday, the day of the week most have been released.

I won't be surprised if isn't released until then or close to then.

I'm curious why Tim at gpsreview predicted May 22nd.

It's either post about new maps, or work on the VHS Tape I just received that needs Noise Reduction, Color Correction (White balance went green!) and archiving to DVD!)
It's simpler to post about new maps!!! !

I know this thread is essentially silliness, but now that CN EU 2020.10 has been released according to sussamb, our friend across the big pond, in a couple of weeks we can seriously start watching for CN NA 2020.20

Garmin has eight days till we leave.
We do have an in-dash TomTom, but don't trust it for a long trip into "unexplored" country.

I'm sure that all roads that need to be known about the Grand Canyon are known.

Enjoy the North Rim, it is fantastic. The drive down 67 from Jacob Lake is so nice. You should see plenty of Bison. Take your time. As strange as this sounds, thunderstorms were spectacular. We were there during passing thunder storms, and it was amazing. Elevation is around 9,500 ft, so you are up there with the weather. Also, seeing passing storms in the distance was quite a perspective. It could have been nice and sunny, but we watched and heard the passing storms way off in the distance.

We are going to make it a "high class" trip. The night sky there should really be spectacular. As you note, the roads within the Grand Canyon will be known. My concern with the in-dash TomTom are all the other roads before one even gets to the Grand Canyon.

Any nav system should be good with interstates to get you across to Arizona. My wife and I took I-40, from AZ to I-81, pretty nice. Might I recommend that you stop by the Petrified Forest National Park, right off I-40. It was educational. There was certainly a very impressive forest there at some point in time.

You know you can download HERE, or Google maps to your phone, and use them offline, right? No data required.

the roads haven't changed much to the Grand Canyon over the years so I wouldn't worry needing about new maps there, the only place I would worry is getting there from out of state through large towns.

About Garmin’s updated privacy policy. Could it be that the map update is just around the corner?

I doubt if the updated privacy policy is related to the map update, but I would guess we will see a map update sometime in the next 2 to 4 weeks.
