I think the limit is 5 pages after that the clock resets and the next update is rescheduled three months out.

So the update will be out before the 6th page.

Strangely, it is fun getting new maps.

If the next update will have a new toll road opened 1 year ago bypassing Guadalajara on it. Now when I use it I drive cross country and the Garmin keeps telling me to redirect.

The current version is 2019.20. If you ever want to know just load up Garmin Express. As long as your GPS has been hooked up to it, you can launch it and it will tell you if there are any updates even if your GPS isn't plugged in at the time.

Nope, not if prior updates are any indication. Their map provider is way behind on updating highways and speed limits.

Looking at the map release history the maps might be out next week. But the 2019.20 was delayed for a month, so maybe we have to wait until beginning of November.

Only Garmin knows.

I wonder if there doing fewer updates and working toward 2 a year because business is getting slower for a dedicated GPS with cell phones and autoes adding GPS's to there products !

That should certainly be a possibility to cut the number of map updates in half due to reduced revenue from slower sales of dedicated GPS units with smart phone apps and in-dash navigation becoming ever more popular.

It makes me wonder how much it costs Garmin each time they come out with their quarterly map updates. Does anyone know?

Actually, if you want to make a wish, it would make more sense to wish that BaseCamp will continue to work for a long, long time. Garmin abandoned updates/improvements to BaseCamp a couple of years ago, and has shown no interest in replacing it. Combine that with the declining market for handheld GPS devices and I think our last best hope is that the current version of BaseCamp will survive new OS versions on both Mac and Windows platforms for a long time to come. Just like with road navigation devices, I think the handheld party for both hardware and Basecamp type software is winding down.

BaseCamp is dead ... long live BaseCamp!

Considering mapsource still works, i'm sure BC will work for a long time too. Have both on the pc but am more productive with MS.

If they update 3 times a year we have a few more weeks to go. But on another update subject.. some time ago there was some discussion of upgrading this forum.. As nice and full of information it is... it is getting long in the tooth compared to other forums that allow posting pictures.. and.. better navigation.

My pet peeve.. is having to start at the first page of a thread to view the latest.. yes.. I know that on page one you can select the last page.. but then is still starts at the top and you need to scroll... And.. on posting this comment I will have to weave back through numerous pages to get back to see my post.
