Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – April 2018

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

the

most recent journey involved a flight to STL and then a GPS-guided drive in a rental car to visit a college for my son in southern IL. Good ride overall, nice roads and nice people.

Upcoming National Hurricane Exercise in Middle Atlantic States

Interested in participating in the National Hurricane Exercise in early May by providing your location on a mobile app and reporting on the (simulated) status of a POI near you? SABER, the Single Automated Business Exchange for Reporting, is playing in the exercise and has an experimental mobile app for status reporting that will support the current authenticated reports from companies about their business status. If you are interested in playing for even a few minutes to make a live business status report, respond here or contact me at jim@SABERspace.org.

Chicago for pizza.

From Long Island over the weekend. Saturday was 71° on Long Island. Just crossing Ohio, temps dropped to 45° and it started to drizzle. By the time we got to the Windy City, it was a 35° with a steady bone chilling rain. On the way back home Sunday (yes folks, an overnight!) we started again in the rain at 38°, then in Ohio it jumped up to 55°. In Pennsylvania, it crested very briefly at 71°, then it dropped again to 42° as we hit Long Island again. 26 hours, 1765 miles for deep dish Chicago pizza. Good times. grin cool

"It's 108 miles to Chicago. We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark out and we're wearing sunglasses."
"Hit it!"

Have you ever heard of a wish sandwich? A wish sandwich is the kind of a sandwich where you have two slices of bread and you, hee hee hee, wish you had some meat...

Bow bow bow...

Ummm... the other day I had a ricochet biscuit. A ricochet biscuit is the kind of a biscuit that's supposed to bounce back off the wall into your mouth. If it don't bounce back, hee hee hee, ... you go hungry!

Bow bow bow...

Umm, umm, umm... the other day I had a cool water sandwich and a Sunday-go-to-meetin' bun...

Bow bow bow...

Hee hee hee hee... What da ya want for nothing? ... a rrrrrrrrubber biscuit?

Bow bow oooh ooh oooh oooooooo-waaaaaaaah...

spent the first week of April in Honolulu the engineers that set up the roads there must have been from Seattle what a mess. weather wasn't the best but it was warm and when the sun did come out it was hot . would I go back I don't think so ! if you go on a fishing trip which is expensive you don't get to keep the fish you catch, it goes to the deck hands to sell at the fish market that's how they get paid!
