TAMPA — Bucking a trend that's swept up several other Tampa Bay area cities, the Tampa City Council voted 4-to-3 Thursday to keep the city's red-light camera program for two more years.

maybe

they were better able to negotiate the business aspect.

The safety aspect is common sense, but there must be cases where a program cannot be efficiently run, and so a municipality ends the program.

Have you ever heard of a business ending its relationship with amazon, and paying to do so? I have, because the agreements are often stacked in favor of the house, and the business partner bleeds money.

I've never seen the financials, but say for every rlc issued, it costs a municipality net net $10? or $20?

I talked with a kid handling ezpass violations on the dealerships' loaner cars. He said we call you 3X and leave messages, then we mail a copy stapled to your loaner agreement, and if we don't get anything back, that's the end of it, we pay. All of the above is a waste of time and money, the dealer should simply pay, since there is < 50% chance of being reimbursed, unlike with a rental car co.
