Garmin Map Update 2017.10 is out

...as most other software vendors.

So doesn't this make 2 Europe map versions in a row with no NT version? I suppose they may still release the 2017.10 NT, but if not it would seem like older devices might be down to 1 map update per year again ... welcome back to 2008

It does ... last one was with 2016.20, but then that was a surprise as I think (a bit later than the NTU version) a 2016.10 NT was released, so I guess that's the 2 for that year

I did update my gps to the version 2017.10 and took almost 2 hours. Maybe my net is slow. I did the update yesterday and looks like is working well.

Yet another map update that is missing some of the new roads, oh well.

My new map update showed a major road junction near me that was only completed shortly before the new map was issued, and a road that I'd reported as not accepting routing from the previous map had been corrected.

Can't fault Garmin for that, so suspect where there are map errors it's not due to a lag on Garmin's part.

It is being reported over on the GPS Review forum that Garmin has finally released the NT version of City Navigator Europe 2017.10. Note that the NTU (Unicode) version was released several weeks ago on April 6. This will be particularly helpful for customers with older devices that have lifetime map updates for Europe.

Hi has anyone found that the voice navigation for nuvi 3597 LMT no longer available in canada since updating the map , when i use the voice command i get a message that says this feauture is not available in canada , what is garmin upto i updated the map to the Canada and Border version as that was the only choice now i find that voice navigation is no longer available

To add to sussamb's link and answer, let me add these:

1) A 3597 that currently has a subset of the entire North America map may have issues with files being on the device that should not be there, and as you've found, voice recognition is lost with a map less than all of North America. When you updated your map over the past several updates, did you use Garmin Express, GarminMapUpdater or something else? I added all the extra English language voice files (many many MB!) to my nuvi 3597 and the the latest map update was still able to install all of North America. It may be worth looking into but will require some work on your part and advice from folks here. For sure, you need to make a full backup of the nuvi before tinkering with files. You could start by going to your nuvi's myMaps page and tell us what maps are listed there. Tell us of all maps and be thorough; don't abbreviate or truncate any of the map names.

2) Regardless of the above, the 3597 will always be offered a map update to a SD card if the full map (North America) won't fit internally to the nuvi. I assume you did not do this. I suggest you buy a 8+GB micro SD card for the nuvi, then reinstall the latest map, choosing to install all of North America to the SD card.

If you don't have a Lifetime Map subscription that you have purchased or came with the Nuvi 1450 then you will need to purchase a map update to install on your device from Garmin.

Note, the current map version is 2017.20 but 2017.30 is expected in the near future.

Hello, I have been out for some time. Here are some concerns that I found with GARMIN and their updates to the GPS Drive 52:
1- on every update there appears to be removal of some features.
2- the device has an option function to 'Report Safety Camera', BUT there is never an up-date to the device in Garmin Express to any reported cameras.
3- the only option offered is to BUY the traffic cameras download.
4- in navigation mode the direction (compass) is removed which for me is important when not being able to tell if I am going E- W- N- S.

GARMIN should take some hints from TOMTOM and the features offered on their devices.

Updates are not posted. You have to Clivk on the speed camera link in POIs to update.

I found this FAQ and it was very useful to me, maybe it can help others. I regained 11GB of space on my 'C' Drive today.
