This may have been posted and or asked already before. We recently bought a second car a 2014 model with all the bells and whistles including on board navigation...
My question is...is it possible to add custom Poi's to the system like the red light cameras and speed cameras to it or would I need to still carry the Garmin gps for these capabilities?
I would appreciate any input you guys have?
Thanks
generally
The answer is no. Concerns about liability for user added data make the auto manufacturer's lawyers go bonkers. There are some that allow you to add custom POI so the best answer is check with the dealer for that brand.

Depends on what Car you have
If it's a Honda this is how.

If not post what make of car you have and maybe someone will know.

Use your Smart Phone
My Android phone Map App works better than most GPS devices for single leg destinations, provided you are in an area where your data plan works. It even reports alternate routes and times, including traffic and accident/construction delays. For anything more complex, or for traveling I prefer to use one of my Garmin GPS. The in-dash GPS or the crappy Harley in-dash unit are half-baked navigators whose map upgrades typically cost more than a good Garmin GPS.

Thanks
Thanks Guys it is a 2014 Kia Rio
I will go through the menu a little more in depth and see what I find.
I will also ask next time the car is in the dealer as well...
don't bother
Thanks Guys it is a 2014 Kia Rio
It's a Japanese unit and I've already asked. You cannot add custom POI to the units.

Okie dokie
Its my wife's car so she doesn't care...
when I'm driving it...I will just bring the trusty Garmin full of all the POI's! I don't need any red light or speed camera tickets!
Thanks again Guys!
