Roadtrip! Yuma AZ to Lancaster PA

It's been a long minute since I last interacted here since I've only tooled around town and use CarPlay for navigation.

However, I will be taking the 2,450+ mile road trip in the near future, so I topped off my 2639 with my favorite POIs from here. Thanks to all you maintainers who make that possible!

I'll use the CarPlay nav and have my Garmin with the sound off. That way I will get the current road conditions, but have all the POIs for instant "what's ahead of me" POIs handy. Certainly people have said that you can create a POI laden route in CarPlay but when you may not know of every place you want to stop, I think the 500,00+ POIs I have loaded makes it a lot easier just to look something up on the spot.

What I really wanted to point out though, is route planning via chatGPT. I was duly impressed. I asked for a route taking me through the Northern route (Phoenix, Albuquerque, Tulsa, etc.). Then limiting each days travel to no more than 370 miles with each day withe same mileage. It was able to create a route of 360-370 miles every day.

Then, there was recommendations for stops for a full sized German Shepard, including water stops and daily walking. It provided dog parks in each overnight stop. BTW, I also used the "BringFido" app on my phone for more recommendations.

Throwing in stops at Buc-ee's (love them but my wife has never seen one), and Culver's and my route was complete. chatGPT couldn't figure out Dunkin's along the way however sad.

I hope this kind of info is helpful to someone planning on taking a complex road trip. Happy motoring!
