This is an intresting idea.. check out the link about this system..

The system counts down to the next green light if you’re already stopped at a red light. It works by connecting your car via Wi-Fi with the central traffic control computer.

One more bright idea to

One more bright idea to track your movements. Who says Big Brother isn't trying to see where you are and where you go every minute of the day.

Are we in that much of a hurry

Are we in that much of a hurry that we need to know when the next green light is coming. IMHO all that is going to do is cause more drivers to "jump" the light.

Tell me again who "Big Brother" is.

Tell us how movements are tracked.

He was speaking in general,

He was speaking in general, but...

Big Brother = NSA/Federal Government
How they track: in this case, using the unique serial number or MAC address of the WiFi receiver in the car. If it were a smartphone the IMEI number would be used instead. Both can be correlated with account information to determine identity and from there, the sky is the limit.

Does it work in the US?

How many cities in the US have the "central traffic control computer" required for this system to work? The link only mentions Germany.

Or watch the cross walk

Or watch the cross walk timer counting down.

Just like the traffic lights in China

Many, if not most traffic lights in large China cities count down to when they turn yellow. They also count down to when they turn green.

It helps traffic flow by letting you know when to slow down to avoid stopped time. Think what you want about it being "bad". Smart drivers use it wisely.

Wish we had that here.
