In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).
Anything to keep your windmill alive.
This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.
yet. But we're planning on a day trip now.
My last trip was from Wsashington DC to Norfolk VA for a work site visit. For a change of pace, I tried out the road less taken along US 1, US 60, US 301, and other non-interstates.
Camped at big bass lake in the ocala NF in Florida.
There are no bass and in fact no lake as it dried up years ago
Still more trips to new golf courses.
but we're preparing for a trip! Got to do some antique shopping
Drove to Chicago last night, heading to the Pens game tonight.
We didn't go anywhere in the last 2 days. Last night the windchill was -45C and today it's -35C. Too cold to do anything.
The Garmin is helping me find my way around the Rio Grande Valley.
Whoosh Whoosh Whoo...Thunk
Roads were icy this morning, but much better this evening. Hoping we've seen the worst of the winter precipitation for this season.
Home to ORD and back. I just wish construction zone speed limits updated with the map updates.
To visit a friend.
No trips or places to find.
Iceland this summer.
This week, Atlanta.
Just did a 250 mile round trip on my motorcycle with 7 other bikers to the stata of Michoacan from the state of Jalisco in Mexico.
North of Philly....lost.
To my favorite pub on the way back from the ski slope. It's nice to know how far to the exit.
NYC gridlock. Yea.
Timing it again up north.
Still -17 Celcius. When will it end? With Daylight Saving Time this weekend?
I'm envious of you.
Have not been on my R1100RT since last July.
One of the reasons I hate winter.
Just got back from the Florida Keys. We did a little over 3000 miles and used the Red Light Camera POIs in the 765T. Florida seems to really like the RLCs.
I find we are using smartphones more often for planning during the trip to supplement the Garmin GPS. The ability to search points of interest, find interesting information about locations, restaurants, hotels, and get a good map overview is clearly superior. If not the the cost of data, and a convenient mount, I think the day of replacing the Garmin with smartphone navigation is nearly at hand.
From freezing to nearly 90 degrees F in a 2-day drive. I needed the break.
Avoid the traffic with my GPS.
Last trip was to meet a motorcoach tour. Glad I had my Garmin, or we would have been able to take a shorter route!
Zelienople, PA to Fishkill, NY for a few days ... and back, 6 hours one way. Used the 1450 for this trip and it was flawless. It did recalculate me once off course traveling through the mountain valleys when it thought (bouncing sat signals) I was on a road north of the Interstate I was on.
I know the way but it is amazing how accurate the time of arrival was right from the start, within a few minutes.
so we're ready for next weeks trip! The great POIs on this site sure help make travel easier.
In eastern CT
Finalizing stuff for an upcoming trip end of this month.
I made the mistake of loading Walgreens POI alerts with a submarine DIVE! DIVE! alert. In my town, there is a Walgreens on every corner. It's a bit much to drive though the city.
Be judicious on which POI you set alerts for. That doesn't mean you can't load an alert sound with them, just don't set the trigger. The alert will play if you route to the location without a proximity.
Last trip was to see son's new house
We flew to Florida and used it in the rental car. It worked great for finding beaches.
Shopping for replacement bar stools.
Going to my work in Mississauga
Just driving around.
Started a four day weedend today... Got some plans... Watch this space!
for the good weather. Soon
Beautiful day to be out. Took some friends from out of town. They loved it.
Visit brother in Warrensburg NY.
The Pit Stop for some ribs...
