Eek, that's a lot of revisions. Do they not test software before they release it? I'm going to stick to my Windows 7 laptop and not update unless it's absolutely necessary.

Stuck at 4.0.14 (Mac)

This last update was puzzling to me. Normally when I've launched GE, it would automatically download the update and install it on a subsequent launch, or if I went to About, it would show there was an update available. Not so this time. I went to the web page and download the .dmg file and now I'm current for the moment. Awaiting the next update to see if it works as it used to or if not, I need to explore why my end might not be working. OS X 10.10.3

Same Experience This Time

I was watching the Windows version report updates, while GE never notified me of a Mac update becoming available. I finally did a manual update and that's how I found the Mac version was up to 4.0.18.0, and it seems to be working as far as looking for a new update. We shall see.

Sharing a common bug base? Actually, I don't mind if the Mac versions don't have the latest bleeding-edge bugs...

V4.0.22.0 Is Out For Mac

The auto updater apparently does not work for this version, so you have to go get it manually.

Downloaded the new version from the website, installed, and it fails on startup "can't connect to background process and will exit."

Updates were happening numerous times per month.

Garmin Express is working much better.

This is just awesome!

We have another revision.

I must say, Garmin Express appears to be working rather well lately. No problems, updates my devices and maps without headaches.

Updates to Garmin Express appear to be addressing adding capability rather than fixing bugs and problems.

smooth update--

and they're adding support for the fitness/activity devices, so get used to using Garmin Express if you're going to use one of these.

The Garmin Vivosmart HR looks good, possibly a replacement for the fitbit (one) I've been carrying for a couple of years. We'll see.

I updated my maps on my 2557

I updated my maps on my 2557 and it didn't say anything about Garmin Express for Mac.

Once installed, I closed the program and reopened it again. It then said an update was ready for Garmin Express. Once I installed it, it said I had to update my maps AGAIN.

Strange.

Everything went well, though, so it was just a waste of another 15 minutes.

Synch and Restart

I sort of addressed that by doing regular restarts/shutdowns and making sure I do synchs when connecting a device to Garmin Express.
