You get an update!!!!!!
Yep, another one is out.
part of the year-end cleanup and updates, archival backup time
(updated my wife's laptop to ssd -- should take it another year or two -- she says it's fast again!)
Now up to V126.96.36.199
As of today, up to V188.8.131.52
Thanks, I already did anyway. http://www.poi-factory.com/node/43959
Just saw it today... get it while it's hot.
We are now at Garmin Express V184.108.40.206
New interface, not sure what's under the hood.
Checked for updates today and got 220.127.116.11
Garmin Express for Mac up to V18.104.22.168
V22.214.171.124 just came out!
Get it white it's hot!!!!
126.96.36.199 is out.
Up to 188.8.131.52, looks like a couple versions were skipped.
Get it while it's hot!
We are up to V184.108.40.206
I was worried us Mac users were being discriminated against again, deprived of the latest bugs made available to Windows users...
Eek, that's a lot of revisions. Do they not test software before they release it? I'm going to stick to my Windows 7 laptop and not update unless it's absolutely necessary.
This last update was puzzling to me. Normally when I've launched GE, it would automatically download the update and install it on a subsequent launch, or if I went to About, it would show there was an update available. Not so this time. I went to the web page and download the .dmg file and now I'm current for the moment. Awaiting the next update to see if it works as it used to or if not, I need to explore why my end might not be working. OS X 10.10.3
I was watching the Windows version report updates, while GE never notified me of a Mac update becoming available. I finally did a manual update and that's how I found the Mac version was up to 220.127.116.11, and it seems to be working as far as looking for a new update. We shall see.
A new one, V18.104.22.168 is out for the Mac.
Sharing a common bug base? Actually, I don't mind if the Mac versions don't have the latest bleeding-edge bugs...
GE won't go through the update process, I'm getting an error message.
I'll keep trying.
The auto updater apparently does not work for this version, so you have to go get it manually.
Release notes from the Garmin software forum ...
Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v22.214.171.124 for the Mac today. If you would like to upgrade to the latest version, Check for Application Updates by clicking “About Garmin Express” from the Garmin Express menu bar, and then click “Check for Updates to Express”. This version includes the following changes:
• Fixed an issue that caused a crash on Garmin Express start up.
I went from 4.0.14 to 4.0.22. By the time I opened ABOUT, the install was already being downloaded.
Downloaded the new version from the website, installed, and it fails on startup "can't connect to background process and will exit."
have my suspicions but testing them requires a reboot which I'm unwilling to do right now.
But that's what backups are for...
MacBook Pro here with Yosemite. Mine updated itself with no problems. I only had to double click the Install and supply the password and it just worked.
V126.96.36.199 just came out a little while ago.
Might have come out a day or two ago, but it's up to V188.8.131.52
We went to V184.108.40.206 today.
Wasn't able to update from within GE, had to download from Garmin.
I saw that GE was trying to download/update SOMETHING, but kept failing, so I did a full manual download and reinstalled.
Gave my copy of 220.127.116.11 the chance to update, and it says it's up to date!
I'll check again in a week...
Looks like Garmin skipped over V18.104.22.168
Fresh off the compiler!!!!!
Here we are at October 15, 2015, and there hasn't been an update since Sept. 8, 2015.
Updates were happening numerous times per month.
Garmin Express is working much better.
From 22.214.171.124 to 126.96.36.199 with no problems in my 6 year old iMac.
V188.8.131.52 is out.
We have another revision.
I must say, Garmin Express appears to be working rather well lately. No problems, updates my devices and maps without headaches.
Updates to Garmin Express appear to be addressing adding capability rather than fixing bugs and problems.
and they're adding support for the fitness/activity devices, so get used to using Garmin Express if you're going to use one of these.
The Garmin Vivosmart HR looks good, possibly a replacement for the fitbit (one) I've been carrying for a couple of years. We'll see.
I updated my maps on my 2557 and it didn't say anything about Garmin Express for Mac.
Once installed, I closed the program and reopened it again. It then said an update was ready for Garmin Express. Once I installed it, it said I had to update my maps AGAIN.
Everything went well, though, so it was just a waste of another 15 minutes.
I sort of addressed that by doing regular restarts/shutdowns and making sure I do synchs when connecting a device to Garmin Express.
Another rev just came out.
We have another one, V184.108.40.206
Get yer Garmin Express he-yah!
Another easy Garmin Express update on the old iMac.
Another, rather quickly.
14 to 15 in not too many days -- an advantage of handling updates yourself (rather than running through someone's store which requires approvals even for bug fixes)...
