No EZPass-Only slip ramps on Garmin maps

The Pennsylvania Turnpike has put in a few slip ramps on and off the turnpike that are only for EZPASS users. They can be a great time saver. The trouble is that no Garmin map has the ramps or the option to use them. There has always been an Avoid Toll Road feature, what is needed is a Use Transponder-Only Ramps option.

Of course, they first have to put the ramps in their maps. Right now when I use them it sends the GPS into confused state. Poor Jill. She doesn't know where I am going.

Do they have these ramps in other states? Do Garmin maps include them in their navigation calculations?

PA slip ramps

As these are only a couple years old or less, the maps may take a while to update locations, unless of course you write to them with the co-ordinates.

I know of three, Fort Washington, Bensalem, and Jim Thorp.

Check Navteq Site

Have you checked the Naveq site at http://here.com/mapcreator

You might be abe to see if thise ramps show on Navteq maps. If they do, it might give an idea if Garmin will eventually show.

If not it might help to report thwem.

I usually check Google Earth, wjo seems to have the maps up to date quicker than any one. I will do a print screen of the GE map and attach that to my Navteq report.

There is another one at PA Route 29 south of Phoenixville. It does appear on some online maps.

PA 29 exit

Really late reply (bump) to this but I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I was on the turnpike...the unit assumes all exits can be used by everyone and that's certainly not the case. Is there any way for them to correct it?

Route 29 EZ-PASS exit now appears

After the last map update on my Garmin 3597 the Route 29 EZ-PASS ramp appeared. I was traveling west and the GPS wanted me to exit at Valley Forge. It now rerouted me to the EZ-PASS exit. In the past it would say I had to go to Morgantown.

When I was visiting FL, my nuvi had me routed on a transponder only based exit, it was up to me to not take that exit and let it recalculate when I passed the exit. Which it did quite nicely and got me to where I was going. It sounds like in this case the maps are not available yet. It may take more than just a couple of years.
