Welcome Guest

Take some time to look around at the wealth of information available.

A lot of guests are users

A lot of guests are users but don't sign in unless they have something to post.

I would urge everyone checking out the site to register and sign up! Five years now for me as a member, and not once in all that time have I ever received a rude, snarky or otherwise less-than-friendly response to any of my numerous questions, or requests for help.

When things do (rarely) get "lively", the MODS do a great job of reeling folks in without making it worse.

Become "official"! You won't regret it!

I do it a lot also, too lazy to sign in.

Basic Cybersecurity, anti-Tracking, anti-Advertising tactics:

As others have pointed out, I don't appear logged unless I have something to say, & then the log cookie is cleaned as I leave.

I would hope that potential POI advertisers are looking at total site & thread participation, and not "members logged" when making advertising decisions. exclaim

I do not care

I am permanently signed in for it makes no difference to me if someone cares if I am in this site. I have other programs to make sure that there is no trace of where I have been so when I leave the trace is gone.

There's advertising here?

I don't recall seeing any advertising.

Who's doing this advertising? Big oil? Garmin /TomTom /Magellan

Car companies / speed, drunk driving attorneys?

Please share wit me, I'm curious

Advertising and Poi Factory Privacy Statement

You will not see advertisements here at Poi Factory but when you go to certain sites you may see advertisements based on your activity here.

POI Factory ads

I do see advertisements on POI Factory in the top of the right pane when I am not logged in. I don't see any ads if I am logged in. I stay logged in all the time, to avoid the ads and for convenience in posting. I never know when I might read a post that I want to respond to. I guess I am just not paranoid enough to cover my tracks.
