In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Trip

Made a 5600 mile trip from Georgetown, Tx to Glacier Natl park. GPS went crazy twice.

Smokey Mts.

Went to the Smokies to see the Elk, then to Cades Cove.
On the way back to the motel a black bear walked out in front of the truck, had to slam on brakes to stop.
As always we had just put the camera back into the case and he went out of sight before we could get a picture.

A different way to use my GPS

I have a new refurbished Nuvi 2595lmt, but I used my Nuvi 1490t for the past two summers in a very creative way. Even though it's designed for land, I've taken it on my pontoon boat many times. The lake I boat on is very large, 6500 acres, but it's very shallow-7 feet max depth. I therefore tend to stay in the middle in areas I'm unsure of.

Around the 4th of July, the town(Beaver Dam, Wisc) has Lake Days celebration, including fireworks.
We take our pontoon boat to the other end of the lake(8 miles) and watch the fireworks from the water.
Unfortunately, they start at 10:10 and end about 10:40pm.

Coming home with no moonlight, it's pitch dark and I couldn't see a thing while trying to navigate. The lake has many turns and I remembered my GPS and the fact it laid down breadcrumbs from previous trips. I just followed the breadcrumbs right back to our place on the lake and never had to worry about running in to anything or beaching it in shallow water. It was a lifesaver.

The little nuvi...

helped us find an RV parts store. Might be time for a map update since it didn't have the new address change. had to pick an intersection to just get close and look for the store smile

Lincoln vs Garmin

I'll try my Lincoln MKS AND my Nuvi to get to the Civic Hospital today. I'll use the 'hospital' function on both and see which route is best.
