Getting maps into MapSource

When I downloaded my latest map, it used a piece of excrement called Garmin Express. The map was installed into my 2555LMT, but not into MapSource. Is there a way to get the current map into MapSource? BTW, I had to uninstall Garmin Express because it was tying up my internet connection too much.

Mapsource

There is a thread somewhere here which details how to get the newest maps into Mapsource.
I have yet to try it myself.

I believe this is it:

You really don't "get them"

You really don't "get them" into Mapsource. You just get them installed on the computer. Once there both Mapsource and Basecamp will both use them. When using Basecamp, if the maps are on the computer, the GPS does not have to be connected to the computer.

I had the same question

I used to get prompted as to where I wanted to install the maps (computer, device, both) using the older programs, but now it doesn't ask, and seems to just install it on the device.

Options

Using mapupdater look in the bottom left and select options. You can select computer here.

Which is why I like my ASUS Transformer. I bought the keyboard so I don't get multiple button pushes because I couldn't move my fingers fast enough. But I will state the Nexus 7 is a GREAT unit. It was my second choice.

Nexus 7

gets great reviews and I seriously considered getting one. I just wish it had a micro SD slot and HDMI output for connecting it to a TV. I am waiting to see what the next Nexus tablet has ... I think it is called the Nexus 7.7. I am also looking at the Samsung Note 8.0 and waiting for it to be released. I think the Samsung is supposed to have the micro SD, but still no HDMI sad

Micro usb

The Nexus 7 has the micro usb and I use a OTG micro to usb converter cable and a usb drive and stream stuff from it. Haven't tried anything big just photos and small movies from my camera and it works great.
