I periodically scan for new FAQs but I missed that one.
Well written and easy to follow. Good job!

Thanks! The idea of tweaking an EPE shortcut was "borrowed" from another user here (don't remember who, sorry); I just cleaned it up a bit and made it a FAQ. It avoids the whole issue of the EPE executable not being on the PATH, and explaining that it might be in "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)", and so on.
thank you for the help

links???
VersatileGuy had a post above
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/39461/#comment-322665
that contained
"Extra POI Editor | Troubleshooting | Run-time errors and crashes" which was itself a link to his FAQ. In his post he used
<a href="http://www.poi-factory.com/node/38053">Extra POI Editor | Troubleshooting | Run-time errors and crashes</a>
(at least as far as poi-factory's quoting mechanism was concerned) to refer to the FAQ at
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/38053
That link reference worked in his post(showing up in light blue indicating it was a link), but (as I just demonstrated) when I "quoted" the link, it did not show up in my post

I am trying to determine why if I just use what VersatileGuy used in the quote by poi-factory
Extra POI Editor | Troubleshooting | Run-time errors and crashes
I do not get the words with the embedded link showing up in light blue.
I note that the page source for VersatileGuy's post has the character string "rel="nofollow" occurring right after "38053 "
So I tried adding it the the "Quote",
making the new character string be
<a href="http://www.poi-factory.com/node/38053" rel="nofollow">Extra POI Editor | Troubleshooting | Run-time errors and crashes</a>
but it still comes out
Extra POI Editor | Troubleshooting | Run-time errors and crashes
not a link.
If I do a straight copy of the page source it still is
Extra POI Editor | Troubleshooting | Run-time errors and crashes
If I copy from the page source as a link address, then

@VersatileGuy, what am I doing wrong?
Input Format?
Did you try to change the Input Format to "Filtered HTML with Hyperlinks"? Not sure if that will do it with quoted material, but it is worth a try.

Yes, Input Format
That's right, you need to click the "Input format" link (just below the Comment box) and select "Filtered HTML with Hyperlinks". That lets you add <a href="http://example.com">links</a>.
Thanks to both

Should have looked there myself.
It looks like I lose "Textual smileys will be replaced with graphical ones." but I have not ever used them, so no real loss.
