Has anyone ever tried these travel apps?

Has anyone ever tried these travel apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=AllStays
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=AppAvenger

It looks like a nice idea (in a way), but especially in the case of the AllStays apps, it looks to me like a case of "there's TOO MANY apps for that" and no way to buy them all for one (reduced) price.

It also looks to me like having separate apps for finding some of these (e.g.: Sam's Clubs, Wal-Marts with Overnight Parking) is overkill. Maybe I'd want to see both on the same map at the same time, along with Rest Stops, too (they have another app for that).

I also wonder whether these offer free updates.

Not my cup of tea

Never tried any of them, and I doubt that I will. It looks to me like the company is using a variation of the "Gillette Razor" approach to marketing, where the initial cost (the first app in this case) is attractively inexpensive, but the total cost will add up quickly for anyone who is even halfway serious about using their products.

Those prices sure do add up.

Those prices sure do add up. I suppose they want to appear like they cornered the whole market when the search results pop up for them. I won't be using them.

Allstays app

We have used Allstays on my iPhone for RV campground research and it is pretty good. I have not found any all inclusive app, including Google maps, so I have to use a combination of several of them when planning a trip. Google does have a nice feature though. Once you have your route plotted, you can type in RV campgrounds in the search field and it will show you the campgrounds along your route. If it had all of them, it would be great. Actually, you can type in any thing you are looking for, not just RV campgrounds. Once you are "out there", Allstays on the iPhone for quick reference is useful since it gives info about the park and ratings.

Having said all that, I just got a Rand McNally 7720 and the POI listings for RV campgrounds is the best yet for on the go use.

I use the NUVI with POI's

I use the NUVI with POI's from this site for my campgrounds and directions. I use my Note2 phalet for everything else and it seems to work fine.

I try to stay away from any apps that are NOT FREE.

Mostly the same

Mostly I try to do the same
