Basecamp Map Issue (MAC)

I can't seem to get the newest map update to be stored on the Mac, 2013.40. 2013.3 got stored just fine. I have two GPS that I updated, 760 and 2555 with .4 but can't seem to get the newest map available unless I attach the unit and read the maps from the unit.

Any ideas?

Let's see - you used Garmin Express, right?

Garmin Express doesn't offer a map installation to computer (Mac or PC) for use by BaseCamp or Mapsource.

You can use MapUpdater instead of Garmin Express and install the current map update to your computer and for the next map update, hopefully MapUpdater will continue to function and let you simulataneously update your device and computer. Check the City Navigator thread for finding and using MapUpdater.

It may be possible to have BaseCamp extract to your Mac the map update for standalone use. Someone with more BaseCamp experience is needed here to help you. As you state, with your nuvi connected to the Mac, BaseCamp can see and use the nuvi's map.

I don't seem to be able to find the program MapUpDater. It''s not listed on the Garmin site nor in the Apple Store.

Considering that GE is the only program that I've used to update the last two Map updates, I can't figure out why it would install one version but not the later version.

When did you do your update, two updates ago? I didn't think Garmin Express was available back when 2013.30 first came out.

A search here at The Factory will pull up several recent threads discussing MapUpdater. The thread topics are probably going to be City Navigator 2013.40 and Garmin Express. Your situation of not updating the computer map for use with BaseCamp and Mapsource is fully discussed. Here's one:
