There's no dedicated tablet discussion group so I'm posting this in smartphone. Microsoft has announced pricing for the Surface tablets:
Price starts at $499 for 32GB Windows RT (includes Office Home & Student). That's not bad at all.
Think I'll wait for the normal Windows 8 version as the RT version isn't going to run any of my current software, as I understand it. The Surface looks like a great tablet and the Windows 8 version should be available early 2013, so maybe a late Christmas present.
about the press release yesterday and the journalist's preview that Microsoft did at the manufacturing plant. Might want to check that out till the thing actually ships and someone can get a more thorough review done.
I think I'll keep my ASUS Transformer with docking keyboard.
A 32GB Surface RT device actually has approximately 50% available free space. Why? Windows recovery tools takes up 5GB and Surface RT OS + Office + built-in Apps uses 8GB.
The 32 GB version has approximately 16 GB free hard disk space.
The 64 GB version has approximately 45 GB free hard disk space.
How long are the lines?
How long have people been camping out?
What is one good reason to get a Microsoft Surface tablet?
