poi file for garman 1350 for new york thruway rest stops

I'll be surprised if they're not built into MrKenFL's Rest Areas Combined file, so I'd try this POI file first and see if it works for you:

The two major beauties of Rest Areas Combined are: 1) the file is constantly updated for accuracy, and 2) the location of each rest area is set to be the exit ramp from the highway to ensure that alerts will occur.

Note that for alerts ("signals at 1/4 mile"), you need to run POI Loader in Manual Mode and set an alert distance for Rest Areas Combined to be 1320 feet--although I strongly recommend setting an alert for a rest area at a much larger distance--I use 15,000', roughly three miles.

I also suggest adding an icon and sound. Note that the Garmin 1350 requires wav audio and PCs must have sox.exe loaded as well:

I run the NYS thruway all the time from Buffalo to below Albany. They are all in there. I set mine to alert 1 mile before (its just me). If a family I might go with 2 to 3 miles as suggested. You will get an alert for the other side but a quick look on the nuvi will tell EB, WB, NB, SB.

I go back and forth the NY Thruway from the PA border to Albany. I plan my upcoming breaks using the file. Your file has them all as far as I can tell including the truck only parking ones with no services, accurate too. I use a 2 mile alert and it lines up pretty well with the big blue signs. In fact, if it alerts you and you don't see a sign, it is most likely a rest stop for the opposite direction.
