Kind of funny... everyone has the voice they "use". Unfortunately the only one I'm "allowed" to LISTEN TO is the one sitting next to me when she's in the car. Just easier to avoid the argument...

I edited the voice file using TTSEditor, and make her say my name with some commands. Very nice.

Voice I use

Jack seem to be clearer then Jill

Bad hearing

I use Jack because of a hearing problem as well. His voice works much better than the others but if not for the bad hearing i would prefer the girl from down under.

My wife has not heard my changes for Karen yet. I'm in no hurry though. Interesting to see how she reacts. Probably an eye roll and a "you are a pervert' look.

Our favorite voice...

I received my first Garmin at Christmas 2012... and my 8-year old son & I like the Wallace & Gromit voice the best. We have tried Yoda, Sponge Bob, Dr. Nightmare, Jill and others... but we always come back to Wallace and his little tid bits for a long trip.

I, Too, Appreciate the Mute Button

Shlomie wrote:

My 3760 is muted except when travelling. My 255 is almost always muted.

When travelling, with thanks to turboccc, I use an edited version of Jill on the 3760 to announce traffic, turns, and other GPS generated announcements. On the 3760 I also use At&T Lauren to announce off-beat tourist attractions.

My co-pilot, when I have one, can use the muted 255 to view upcoming restaurants along the route. If travelling alone, my meal stops are planned ahead and programmed as via points on the 3760 which are announced by Jill.
