None

I turned the voice off about a year ago and have not missed it. It just became too annoying.

I hear strange voices

OK.. guess I'm a little (or maybe a lot) strange... I use Dr. Nightmare. The echo in his voice sounds great over the stereo speakers in my motorhome.

No Recalculating!

Karen, but modified the file using http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/TTSVoiceEditor and deleted the word "recalculating". It sure cuts down on the interruptions to my music.

Now off to http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/TTS_Speech_Doctor to change Dr to drive and a bunch more TTS changes.

What voice do most of you use?

I started with the Aussie, Karen but she confused Washington highways (WA) with Western Australia. Now, I stick with Jill.

I use the american english

I use the american english chick........grin.

The default voice I think.

The default voice I think. It's the non-Australian female.

I listen to Jill

I've made a few adjustments to her voice like: increasing speed rate of her voice, replacing some commands, and I like it now.

"You can't get there from here"

i used to use british emily,

i used to use british emily, but she kept pronouncing certain words "un-american" like so i had to change back to american jill. it's weird though, the voice sounds the same on both besides the accent. maybe i'll try the australian since everyone here seem to like it.

I also use Jill

I also use Jill

Modified Karen

I'm used to running with multiple radios going; the female aussie voice is distinctive; not too many female aussie dispatchers in our area!

I've also made small changes; rather than "recalculating" she says, "Have it your way," and other similar changes.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention I've heard the voices for many years, even before GPS (and Bluetooth)...

American Jill

I use American Jill, for some reason the other voices irritate me. My wife changed it to a different voice a couple of weeks ago, I almost muted the unit until I had a chance to change it back.

Custom voice

I use a modified version of Jack, which I renamed "Data" as in the android from Star Trek. It doesn't say "recalculating" either... "plotting new course" instead grin (complements my Enterprise E vehicle)
