He was joined by Representative Boxer who stated "A companion bill to ban the placement of signs where they can be viewed from the road is making its way through my House Committee. Americans need to be protected from this type of irresponsible behavior." The California Department of Transportation estimates it will cost in excess of 432 million dollars to remove signage from the state highways.
