Friend bought a 1450 LMT -- I have Nuvi 660.. Will POI I use work in 1450 LMT?

A friend bought a 1450 LMT... I've a Nuvi 660

I use CSV files, and MP3 files for my POI's... And older POI Loader

Will this combination load POI's Successfully in her 1450 LMT ???

Or is there a difference in the POI loading procedure?

Thank You!

using mp3 in 1450

The 1450 LMT does not have mp3 capability so sound alerts based on mp3 files will not work in it.

You would have to convert the mp3 files to wav and re-run Poi Loader (with sox.exe version 4.0.1 in the same folder as POI Loader.exe.).

I have found that sound alerts based on wav files work in both my mp3 based 295W and my non-mp3 285W. I don't know if the same would hold true with your combination.

Edit:

I see in this thread that some users report that wav based alerts will work in the 660:

OK... If I downloaded the

OK... If I downloaded the Wav file audios and put sox.exe V4.0.1 in same folder as POI Loader, then it would work... ??

CSV files are still OK for the 1450?

Just trying to cover all bases....

csv files are ok

csv files are ok to use with all nuvis (and many other types as well). POI Loader can use csv and/or gpx files to create the gpi files used by Garmin GPS receivers.

Note that wav files are no longer availabe on this site but work is in progress to restore them.

I can always use Format

I can always use Format Factory to convert existing mp3's to Wav's...

Any specification on the Wav file? 48K? Mono? etc?

sox.exe converts wide range of wav formats.

sox.exe has the capability to convert a wide range of wav formats to the standard PCM 44k mono wav that Garmin needs. That is why POI Loader uses sox.exe.

However, you may as well choose PCM 44k mono when you are converting from mp3

Here is some info

Here is some info and also where to get sox.
