Lost lots of Junction Views after last map upgrade 2012.20

I have noticed on my 1490LMT that after last map update 2012.20. It has lost lots of junction views now. I used to get junction view on Hwy 427 South bound at the 409 Split etc. But not any more. And even junction view for 401 West from 427 South. They all disappeared. Is there any way to put them back again?
I will appreciate your help.

I have noticed the same thing.

I have not driven much lately. But I have noticed a couple of places where I used to get junction views no longer displayed. Also, previously I had full screen junction view, now I get half screen view.

Search engines are wonderful things

There is a fix in that thread. It's called "change your JCV file because Garmin screwed you over."

Next time boys, use the search engine before you post. That link is from a couple months ago.

In partial defense of the OP you have to admit that the search engine on this site is HORRIBLE.

Download the larger JCV file

Download the larger JCV file ... and hope and pray that Garmin does the right thing by us 1XXX series GPS owners with the next update.

I know they are working on a solution for updating the memory-limited models.

Garmin 205, 260W, 1450LMT, 2460LMT, HEREwego for iPhone ... all still mapping strong.

No excuse for not searching before posting

I normally recommend using Google with the parameter "site:poi-factory.com" tacked to the end for searches. But I went to the search engine, typed in "2012.20 JCV" and the first response I got was the thread I linked to. So, if JM is making improvements to the search engine, he deserves applause. If he's not, then I got lucky and had a search that worked. smile

A search with "jcv file"

A search with "jcv file" brings up multiple hits and the 1st one is the one that Strephon_Alkhalikoi linked to. This is the one that has the most info on the jcv issue.

In a nutshell

rookie8155,

As pointed out (and if you've got the time and maybe a very large cup of coffee to get through it all), this thread answers your question:

If you're short on time and don't want the whole enchilada, start at page 3 with the post by rame1012 on 8/12/2011 at 11:02AM.

If you plan to install the "rame1012" file, the installation procedure is here--look for "In A Nutshell":

Remember that the large jcv file will almost certainly not work with future map updates.

There's been a lot of discussion about the future and we really have no idea what Garmin's going to do for older Garmin models that offer JV. If you install and love the large JV file that rame1012 received for the 2012.20 map, you should consider doing as I do: Do not update to 2012.30 when it comes out until after we have data from others who have installed the map so that we'll see the size of the jcv file and more importantly after some simulated routing, to see if JVs of importance to you will be there...or not. At that point, we will need to choose to update to the newest map with its addition and corrections--or to avoid the update and keep the large number of JVs, since there's no guarantee that Garmin will offer a large jcv file as they did for this map after very many very angry calls from owners to Customer Service.

Nice, you did your homework

Me too

I just noticed too last weekend I drive pass one of the juction and it used to showed the junction view but it did not. I will try to add the jvc file too see if it help.

This will continue to occur

This will continue to occur based on Garmin's thought processes and decisions on what we need on the lower capacity Garmins.
