Garmin Traffic Questions

1. Does anyone have a list of the traffic channels that maps to the FM frequencies? The GTM Status page lists channels, but not the radio frequency. Because of frequent channel changes, I haven't been able to map this.

2. Navteq owns Traffic.com (nee Mobility Solutions) which is a major traffic provider and has a huge network of sensors. Where do Clear Channel owned stations using their "total traffic network" derive their traffic data?

3.) For areas with free RDS-TMC traffic service (e.g. French Autoroutes), will my Garmin pick it up automatically? Or will I have to install a "subscription" to get the free data?

4.) Why does a Clear Channel subscription show up as a single provider, but with a Navteq subscription, each station is listed separately on the GTM Info page? Also Navteq stations show up as "unnamed."

Their own first-hand reporting into their own data network - reporting what their traffic reporters at their O&O radio stations see themselves, and observe conditions from automated monitoring systems & "trip guide" cameras, & twitter feeds operated by government entities in metro areas, and reports from other drivers who may call a radio station's traffic tip lines.

It is a simple equation:

Frequency = (Channel Number / 10) + 87.5

For example, if you are seeing channel 152 then:

102.7 = (152 / 10) + 87.5
