gpx (neither Mac or Windows can read this file)

how do you change gpx to csv?? I want to download the
Truckstop/rv fuel stations and it only has gpx neither Mac or windows can read this file. We have a garmin 3790.

You do not need to read it, just save it to a directory

You do not need to read it, just save it to a directory and then connect the 3790 and run POI Loader. Select the directory that you saved it in and go ahead and complete the loader steps and it will be loaded into your 3790 under extras.

gpx has advantages

GPX files have advantages over CSV files. You can get more information into the file about a location, control how the information is displayed and have phone numbers your 3790 can dial using bluetooth.

As your unit doesn't use either type of file directly, it doesn't matter which you put into the folder POI Loader reads. Both are read and converted to a GPI file for use by the 3790.

Extra POI editor should be able to do it

Most people use it for another way around, converting csv to gpx, or even gpi to directly copy into GPS without using POI Loader software.

After all, gpx is a XML file. if you change the file extension to txt, it can easily be opened by any computer.
