Garmin nuvi 1350 (return route is not the same)

I find when I use my gps to get to a specific destination and on reaching that destination to return home it does not repeat the same route. Have I set my gps wrong?

Not necessarily

Routing and how the nuvi is an on going discussion in a few posts. Some of the general consensus is that the nuvi's optimize routes by utilizing right turns. Right turns do not take as long to complete as left turns.

An interesting article concerning why you can't reverse a route

Depends on the voice you are using

Jill being the woman she is will not repeat a route, you know that woman thing about not wearing the same dress or shoes two day in a row.

Jack on the other hand is used to wearing the same pair of shoes from weeks on end so he is more likely to take you back the same wrong way he got you there.

That is my theory and I’m sticking to it.

Interesting theory...

The theory I use to try to explain routing differences like this is once I had a return trip go an unexpected way the explanation I came up with was the route's proximity to a school, and the time of day... the route sent me away from the school at a time of day when it would have been dismissing.

That's my story - and I'm stickin' to it. smile

That's been my experience

That's been my experience too, but the return route seemed a better one.
