How do I associate the museum icon with museums? Can ya tell I've never added anything to my gps. Garmin 1450lmt.
I believe I can just use an usb cable and hook it up to my computer, but do I have to have the files in folders ahead of time? or what.

At the bottom of the link provided by charlesd45 is a tip about file extensions - some computers are set to NOT show extensions and this often causes problems when you are trying to link POI files and Icons.
Because you really need a backup before you fool around too much, I would like to suggest that you do a couple of beginner exercises. I will give the links before, but what you might want to do is hold down the "Cntl" key while you left-click on each link. What will happen is that you will see a new "Tab" open on the Tab bar of your browser. You can click on that new Tab and still keep this post open so you can come back to get the next link.
