Lost my trafficon Nuvi 765

I think I read about somone having this same issue a while back, but I can't find it now. About 4 months ago I turned off all traffic alerts and notifications on my 765. I have the MSN receiver and still use the weather and othr features, at least till the end of the year. I wanted to re-enable the traffic alerts and now can not figure out how to do that. I called Garmin and the told me to call MSN. Called MSN and they re-activated my subscription, but that did nothing. The traffic icon is not on the screen, nor is it available from any of the menus. All of my other MSN features are visible, just not the traffic. Any help would be appreciated.

try this

Touch tools/settings/traffic
enable or disable

2 DriveSmart 65's - We do not live in Igloo's and do not all ride to work on snow mobiles.

That would be an easy fix...

however, there is no traffic icon or setting to disable or enable.

try clearing traffic data

.

You are using the FM traffic receiver vehicle power cable when testing?

yes...

The MSN receiver is connected while I try this. I get the other features that will only work while the cable is connected, fuel prices, weather, etc. Just no traffic since I disabled it. I am going to do a complete reset of the GPS and see if that works.

no

No, that's not what i meant. Remember the original traffic cable you got with the unit? Plug it back in and see if you get the icon.

He has MSN

You shouldn't need the original traffic cable... I gave mine to a friend and only use the MSN cable on my 765.

I believe he cannot see the 'traffic' symbol on the display.

If a hard reset of the Nuvi does not help, you may want to try a reset of the MSN receiver with a paperclip.

Reset worked...sort of

I did a hard reset and now get my traffic alerts again. However....there is still no icon on the settings page like there used to be.

One of the reasons I had initially disabled the traffic happened again the other night. I was going up I-75 at about 12:30 am and got a 36 minute delay at I-75 northbound and Griffin road. As has happened numerous times, I get to the red highlighted area and there is nothing. I continue on at 80 mph with very few other cars on the road.

This had happened to me numerous times and I therefore disabled the alerts. I have never had that happen anywhere except in my home area, so I figured I would re-enable it when I traveled.
