Recalculating

I have a Garmin 1450 and I was wondering if instead of changing the recalculating to something cute etc,can it be changed to just recalculate the course with out saying anything like the Magellan GPS do.

Interesting...

I have to admit the "Recalculating" prompt can be annoying some times, especially when you have to go around the 'calculated' route for a few blocks and at every corner you have to hear it.

This may be what you are looking for

You could just use a blank sound file.

You could just use a blank sound file.

Or a Homer Simpson type sound of simply "D'Oh!"

Where do you get that?

The Homer voice file?

I changed me Nuvi from saying recalculating to "Come on Maxey, you can trust me, and it gives the riders in my van a kick when they hear it, so far no one has gotten tired of hearing a woman's voice correcting a man, go figure!!!

recalculating

grin I have a Garmin and use American Jack as my "guide". I have changed "recalculating" to, "Bryan, you are lost again. Let me get you straightened out."
My wife uses American Samantha and I stick her name into the "... you are lost again...". I have changed some of Jack's other saying also.

Too long

When I decide to deviate from my route I find "recalculating" over and over annoying enough. I can't imagine changing it to one of these long phrases people are using. I guess if I rarely used the nüvi or rarely deviated from the suggested route it might be amusing for a short time but having to listen to a long phrase every time the unit recalculates would make me even crazier than I already am.

Keep It Short

Just change it to something like "Darn" or "Oops", or any other appropriate four letter word.

Just replace the phrase with a space character.

A space character gives no sound on my 765T.

Blank

I just left the Recalculating line blank and it works just fine.
