Not sure if this has been addressed elsewhere, but I've noticed that after my Nuvi 755T has been plugged in for anything over half an hour or so, it gets pretty hot. Not hot enough to burn me, but hotter that I would think is normal.
Is it typical? It seems to work fine, but it just seems like its operating temperature would be a little lower...
Any 755 owners have the same experience, or am I going to be having problems? By the way, mine isn't on the recall list.
Warm, not hot.
Mine gets warm, but not hot. Is it hot in only one spot? Does it get hot both when running on battery and when powered by the cradle? How about when charging with USB?

Mine has always bin hot, way to hot for my liking. None of the 7x5's have bin recalled from what i have heard. It doesn't get all that hot charging through USB but plug it into the cigarette lighter is a whole different ballgame, add to that the sun blaring down on it. So far, after a year, it hasn't blown up. My battery doesn't last very long, never did, maybe 30 minutes from full charge. I wouldn't mind hearing from someone who has bought an after- market internal battery just to see if anything changed.

My 675T gets very hot too... I know there was a battery recall, but my unit isn't one of those recalled.
nuvi 755t recall
I just got my nuvi back from Garmin with a new battery. It was on the recall list. you might want to check the Garmin site again for recalls.
It would get hot when it was playing MP3s for a couple of hours, it would shut down, cool it down and it would start working again.
thanks
still no recall for me

Check for The recall and
..My recalled (for getting hot!) 765T gets VERY hot if I lay it screen-side up (vent side down) when I charge it.
It stays very cool if I set it on it's edge or face-down when charging. I'm still sending it in when 'the rush' is over, though.
The sunlight is a killer when it's in the car or window sill, too.
It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

I bought an aftermarket battery from newpower99 dot com. Previously my 750 battery never lasted more than about 30 minutes even with the display setting lowered. Now my battery lasts 3 - 4 hours. I thought it was well worth the effort.
(And for the original poster... yes, my 750 gets very warm.)
.
Good to know thanks. Might have to do that with my 765t if Garmin doesn't get the 3790 working properly. So far its still giving me about 15 minutes, which is enough for my needs atm. The heat build up when it's plugged in can't be good for it. Gonna bite the dust next Summer I would think. Won't be using it much in the Winter.

Nuvi 755T Gets Hot
I use my 755t for my 12hr shift. It gets warm but never hot. I did notice that during the summer months with the sun hitting the dash that the gps back side gets hot but never from the car or home charger.
